FREE SMARTPHONE TRAINING ANDROID & IPHONES- PROVIDED BY CALIFORNIA PHONES (CTAP)

The California Telephone Access Program is piloting a 3 hour  Free Basic and Accessibility Android and iPhone Smartphone Training  FREE.

I am a senior adult and I was on the waiting list to attend the Android Smartphone training at the DEGETC.org, and I got in.  The training was designed to teach only 7 individuals. The smaller class allowed the instructor to move around to assist each person as needed. Each attendee was given a workbook with spaces for note taking, and believe me, the instructor encouraged note taking as she discussed each area of the smartphone.

The Workbook is very detailed with large bold print and images detailing every aspect of the smartphone which can be referred back to for future reference. Each attendee was asked to take our smartphone in hand as she covered each area of the smartphone and to use each function when she instructed us to do so.

I have a working knowledge of how the smartphone works but after taking the Basic Android Training, my knowledge increased. There were many parts of the smartphone, I never ventured into regarding accessibility, example (flash notification).

I encourage all Senior Adults who own an Android or iPhone to Contact CALIFORNIA PHONES AT 1-866-271-1540 or email smartphonetraining@ddtp.org  for the next training in your area

Why not encourage your Church, Club, or Senior Center to hold a Smartphone training it's FREE.
